Distributors of Horror Films

I have done some research into companies that distribute films to help decide which one I will use.

Rogue Pictures: (Intrepid Picrures)


In 2004, Rogue Pictures was launched as a label under Universal -owned Focus Features, with the label's goal being "high-quality suspense, action, thriller and urban features with mainstream appeal and franchise potential". Toward the end of 2005, Universal and Rogue signed a deal with the newly formed production company Intrepid Pictures to produce, co-finance, and distribute films for five years. By 2009, Relativity Media bought Rogue Pictures from Universal Pictures.

Dimension Films


Dimension Films is a motion picture unit currently a part of The Weinstein Company. It was formerly used as Bob Weinstein's label within Miramax Films to produce and release genre films. The Weinstein Brothers took this label with them when they departed the Disney-owned Miramax in October 2005.

Columbia Pictures


Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. (CPII) is an American film production and distribution company. Columbia Pictures now forms part of the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group, owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment subsidiary of the Japanese conglomerate Sony. It is one of the leading film companies in the world, a member of the Big Six. It was one of the so-called Little Three among the eight major film studios of Hollywood's Golden Age.

Twisted Pictures

Twisted Pictures is a production company, mainly creating films of the horror genre. It gained wide attention through the production of the Saw Series.

Miramax Films

Miramax Films is the art-house/independent film division of The Walt Disney Company, and acts as both producer and distributor for its own films or foreign films.

  • Kill Bill Volume 2
  • Hellraiser: Inferno



New Line Cinema

New Line Cinema, often simply known as New Line, was founded in 1967, is one of the major American film Studios. In 1996, though it initially began as an independent film studio, it became a subsidiary of Time Warner and is now a division of Warner Bros. New Line continues to market, produce and distribute its films; however, it does so now as a part of Warner Bros.
