Brief analysis of film magazines

I have analysed three more different film magazines to see what the main codes and conventions are which will help me when making my magazine.

Entertainment Weekly:

This is an American film magazine and it follows the main codes and conventions of a film magazine. Its main target audience would be young people from 15 - early twenties. This is because of the film that is featured on the front and it uses a lot of different colours and fonts. It shows what else is in the magazine and the title of the featured film is shown clearly with the main picture of the actor and actress on the front cover.

Premiere:

This is also an American film magazine, however its main target audience would be people in their late twenties and above because of the type of fonts used and the actor on the front. The title of this magazine clearly stands out and the colours are consistent. This magazine also follows the main codes and conventions.

Sight and Sound:

This is a British magazine and it is aimed at older people in their fourties. This is because it is a more serious magazine for people who have an informed interest in cinema and television and look at film as an art form. It follows some of the codes and conventions of film magazines, however it is layed out slightly different than other magazines.
